Mr. President-elect,
On behalf of the citizens of Hungary I would like to offer my sincere congratulations on your recent victory.
Your election as the next President of the United States reflects the wish of the American people for change and renewal in a difficult period of time when we all need to face multiple challenges at home as well as globally.
We in Hungary are convinced that our historic partnership with the United States, based on shared values, the love of freedom and the commitment to democracy will help us cope with those challenges together. Having just celebrated the 60th anniversary of the revolution of 1956 against dictatorship and foreign oppression, Hungarians are ready to continue the cooperation with the United States in the North Atlantic Alliance to safeguard peace and to strengthen international security.
Mr. President-elect,
I have every hope that the traditional ties of friendship and trust between our two nations will be once again reconfirmed in the coming years. I would like to assure you that I am looking forward to working with you for the mutual benefit of our countries.
